From the recording Fever Dreams
Lyrics
The day begins all is calm, children playing on the lawn
Their Mother brews a pot of tea, but things are not as they seem to be
By the naked eye all is well, at least as far as they can tell
There’s things afoot up the stairs, far away from the children’s cares
I stumble down the oaken case, I lose all sense of time and space
It all surrounds me as black as night, I feel the pull but I cannot fight
I cannot move, I cannot speak, my throat is dry, and my knees are weak
As I awake from fever dreams,
I can’t believe where I have been
Something has come over me,
I’m not the man I used to be
Tumbling and falling inside myself, like a toy falling from a shelf
Although fear it grips my soul, there’s something else that takes control
Spinning orbs of blue and green, the likes of which we’ve never seen
Comets swirling though the night, just as moths drawn to the light
Oh, oh, the sound
The humming sounds of the universe, sound so sweet in rhyme and in verse
Oh so grand it cannot be, it all once fit in a cup of tea
Oh, oh, the sound
Oh, oh, the sound
Wind and water, earth and skies
Disappear before my eyes
Moving faster, to the light
I must resist with all my might
Push and pull, pleasure and pain
I must escape this astral plane
Oh, yeah
As I awoke from fever dreams,
I’m not the man I used to be
